Prepare for A North Carolina Drivers License Test

Are you nervous and excited about your upcoming driver’s license test? Don’t worry! We work with people every day who are trying to prepare for their North Carolina driver’s license test. Below are several items you should study and review so you can successfully pass the driver’s test administered by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.

Written

The written section of the driver’s license exam is one of the most important. You should know the different traffic laws and understand the most common safe driving rules. You can prep for the written section by taking several test exams on our website and studying the state issued North Carolina Driver’s Handbook. If you don’t have one, just pick up a free copy at your local DMV.

Vision

The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles will also test your eyesight to make sure you are capable of driving a moving vehicle. If you wear glasses or corrective lenses you may be required to wear them at all items if you are issued a driver’s license or suffer a penalty. Your license will also indicate if corrective lenses are required.

Traffic signs

Another section of the driver’s license exam involves traffic signs. You should know the standard regulatory and warning signs that you may see on the road.

Driving

Finally, to get your driver’s license you will have to pass the driving test. An employee of the DMV will observe and assess your driving skills and ability to perform basic tasks. To prepare for this you should practice how to backup a moving vehicle, do three-point turnabouts and follow general traffic signals. You should also know how to park the car, use the turn signals, yield right of way to others and much more.

If you don’t pass the test for a regular Class C driver’s license you may retake it again after seven calendar days have passed.
